Steve is a graduate of the University of Tulsa with a Bachelor of Business Administration. From 1977 to 1980, he was employed by Fred S. James Co., Inc. as an account executive and left to become a partner in Consolidated Insurance Agency. In 2003, Steve and his partners merged their operation with Rich & Cartmill, Inc., where he is partner and vice president.
He has completed educational courses at The Travelers Insurance Company home office in Hartford, Conn., as well as the Level 1 Course of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers. He has served on the board of directors of the Oklahoma Association of Independent Agents, was president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Greater Tulsa and has been on the Insurance Advisory Board of Tulsa Community College.
