Mike Brown began his insurance career in 1978 after graduating from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He started with American Fidelity Assurance Company in Enid, Oklahoma, where he called on teachers in seven counties of Northwest Oklahoma, selling supplemental life and health products. After five and a half years, he had the opportunity to move back to Weatherford and start a life and health insurance business, working with independent property and casualty agencies. In 1987, he formed American Insurance Group, an employee benefits specialist company. His son, Matt, joined him in the business in 2009 and has grown the business exponentially. Mike has also served as mayor of Weatherford for twenty years, where he was named Mayor of the Year for Large Cities in 2010. Mike states that he “is excited to join all the people at Rich and Cartmill.
